Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority
The Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority (HFSA) is the consumer protection authority concerning the financial market which has arole to protect the general interest of consumers. Through its complaint handling department HFSA plays a specific role in the settlement of disputes between the financial service providers and consumers.
Although the HFSA has no competence to make judgments in individual cases it contributes
to the effective arrangements of client–provider conflicts as an impartial intermediary.
However, if possible, HFSA gives answer to the consumer in its own competence or helps to
reveal the misunderstandings between the parties by contacting the financial service provider
in question.
