The Energy Supply Ombudsman
The Energy Ombudsman is administered by The Ombudsman Service Ltd (Ombudsman Services), which is a private limited company operating on a not-for-profit basis. Its governance structure has been carefully designed to protect the independence of the ombudsman. The Ombudsman Services Council is mostly made up of independent people with industry representatives from the Member Board. Ombudsman Services is funded by its industry members. The company has been admitted to membership of the British and Irish Ombudsman's Association (BIOA), which recognises them as independent.
