Slovakian Business Register
The Business Register of Slovakia is a public registry that contains specific information on individual entrepreneurs, companies and other legal entities, as provided for by the legislation.
The registry is owned and maintained by the Ministry of Justice of Slovakia.
The Business Register of Slovakia provides free of charge access to, and retrieval of, information.
Slovakia's business register can be searched by:
• business name
• identification number
• registered seat
• registration number
• name of a person
The search engine is also available in the English language.
The register provides information from 1st January 2001 onwards.
The Slovak business register was established in 1992, after the adoption of Act 513/1991 Coll. on the Commercial Code, and replaced an earlier company register.
The Commercial Code (§§ 27 – 34) regulated the legal scope of the business register until 2004.
From 1st February 2004, the new legal requirements for the business register were introduced and entered into force (Act. 530/2003 Coll. on the Business Register, as amended and amended by other Acts).
The only section of the Commercial Code still valid is that which regulates the legal description of a registered person, the effectiveness of registered data and its publication. Sections 28 to 34 were abolished.
An amendment to Act No. 530/2003 Coll. resulted in the electronic publication of the register. Documents are kept up to date in written and electronic format. Documents dating from 1st August 2007 onwards are kept only in electronic format.
