Romania Ministry of Tourism
The Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MRDT/MDRT) has as main areas of activity: planning, national and regional territorial development; cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation; urban planning and spatial planning; housing construction and tourism.
In the area of tourism the MRDT manages 2 programmes aimed at tourism infrastructure development programmes and at promotion of Romania's tourism industry.
The MRDT manages 48 programmes financed from European and national funds: the Regional Operational Programme 2007-2013 (REGIO), European territorial cooperation programmes, PHARE - Economic and Social Cohesion programmes, PHARE - Cross-border cooperation programmes, programmes of territorial development, housing construction, thermal rehabilitation of housing blocks, retrofit of buildings prone to seismic risk, development of rural infrastructure, construction of sports halls and cultural homes.
