Property Transaction Complaint Board (Klagenævnet for Ejendomsformidling)

BackThe Property Transaction Complaint Board handles complaints from consumers relating to state-authorised real estate agents and other intermediaries engaged in similar business areas. Complaints they handle relate to all of the circumstances around the legal relationship between the consumer and real estate agent, including issues of sound real estate practice.

The Complaints Board can decide whether the real estate agent must pay damages or compensation, and for the real estate agent to reduce or forfeit his fee.

The organisations behind the panel of the board are the Danish Real Estate Association, the Consumer Council and landowners Rural Organisation.

There are 5 conditions to be met before lodging a complaint:

1) The complaint must relate to a relationship between a consumer and a state-authorised real estate agent.

2) The consumer must have approached the real estate agent prior to contacting the complaints board.

3) The case cannot be handled if it is already being pursued legally through the courts or other complaints boards.

4) The complaint shall be filed on a complaint form, which can be downloaded at the bottom of this page or obtained by contacting the Board's secretariat.

5) A fee is payable by the consumer
