The National Energy Commission

BackThe National Energy Commission is the regulatory body for of energy systems, created by Law 34/1998, of 7 October of the Hydrocarbons Sector, and developed by Royal Decree 1339/1999, of 31 July, which approved its regulations.

Its objectives are to monitor efficient responsibility in the energy systems and operational objectivity and transparency, to the benefit of all those individuals who work in these systems as well as consumers. The Commission is a public authority with independent legal identity, its own assets and full operational capacity.

The National Energy Commission are responsible for regulation of the industry as well as offering conflict resolution in instances between consumers and service providers.
