The National Council of Consumers and Users CNCU (consiglio nazionale dei consumatori e degli utenti)
The tasks of the CNCU are to advise consumers and to promote consumers rights in Italy.
The CNCU's activities include:
• Expressing opinions on draft laws by the Government and parliamentary initiative, or on patterns of regulation affecting the rights and interests of consumers and users.
• Seek institutional associations and business representatives to study specific issues.
• Sign Memorandum of Understanding with agencies, companies and associations to define and develop tools for protecting and informing consumers about rights or public utility services'.
• Assisting in the coordination between national, regional and European consumer protection.
• Promote studies, research and information on consumer problems and consumer rights.
The CNCU, which meets once a month in Parliament, operates through Working Groups that examine the following issues:

• Transport and Road Safety
• Product Safety
• Credit and financial services
• Insurance
• Food Safety
• Health
• Regional and local policies
• EU policies
• Corporate Social Responsibility
• Access to justice - consumerism
• Reconciliation
• Public services network
