Centre of Mediation (Centre de Médiation du Barreau de Luxembourg)
Mediation is a voluntary and confidential service to assist in resolving conflict between parties using an impartial third party. The centre of mediations role is to find a solution to meet the needs of all parties involved. They do so by helping the parties to facilitate negotiations to find their own solutions. They are not a Judge or an arbitration scheme.
The mediation centre aims to resolve cases within three months however his can be extended at the agreement of both parties. At any time all the parties, including the mediator, can freely put an end to mediation.
The Mediation centre is a non profit organisation. Aims include:
- Promote knowledge and understanding of mediation,
- Create a climate in which to promote the use of qualified mediators, chosen by the Center
- To offer companies and individuals a simple method of settlement of their disputes.
